iPhone 5S, Nexus 5 or Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Von coolfashion, 18:33Now we'll warn you that the latest news comes via Digitimes - the incredibly hit and miss Taiwanese website - so take what you read with a pinch of salt, but we could be in line for a pair of new phone handsets as well as an early release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The site claims unnamed industry sources have revealed Apple is asking its factories in China to ramp up production on two new devices website, thought to be the iPhone 5S and a budget iPhone model.
These handsets may be unveiled as early as next month and the sources reckon Apple will start shipping its new iPhones at the end of June.
That's not all however, as the same insiders also think they've got the inside skinny on the next super-sized Samsung in the form of the Galaxy Note 3.
Early report suggested that the Note 3 would make its debut at IFA 2013 in September, but apparently the Korean firm may jump the gun with a July or August announcement.
No specs, features or further details were provided on any of the handsets in question ( http://www.elecitem.com/gps-cell-phone-c-79.html ), so we'll just have to bide our time and see if this latest leak is fact or fiction.
Despite odds favoring the iPhone 5S to be the first of these second-half heroes to hit stores, the Galaxy Note 3 may also have a solid chance of being released first. In fact, it could be out well before the iPhone 5S and Nexus 5, if speculation turns out correct and the June 20 Samsung event in London will serve as a launching pad for the Note 3, rather than IFA 2013. If that won’t be the case, then IFA 2013 looks to be the most probable event where Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 3. That would be in the first week of September, which means basing on Samsung’s history, the Note 3 could be released internationally (and hopefully in North America as well) early in October.
Apple is apparently preparing for producing 20 million new iPhones each month starting with the third quarter of the year. Launch details for the new iPhone models are not provided, but the report speculates that Apple could announce them in June at the earliest. The publication does say that iPhone shipments would start at the end of June, reaching a peak in August-September.
Other recent Galaxy Note 3 rumors claim that the handset would launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor on board and with a camera with optical image stabilization features.
