LG introduces White Google Nexus 4

In a spring season loaded with new entries into the china android phones market, LG has announced a new color for its prized Nexus 4 model. It’s also been reported that the new white Nexus 4 will most likely be the end of the Nexus line, and that previous indications of an upcoming Nexus 5 were not accurate.

And if you were hoping to see a Nexus 5 from LG that is also out, the company reportedly said. To make up for this, LG Tuesday announced a white version of the Nexus 4. However, only the back of the phone actually is white. As you can see in the image above, the front of the touch phones is black.

LG says the phone will roll out to North America in the coming weeks, but did not announce an exact release date or pricing. The new phone debuts in Hong Kong on Wednesday. "Nexus 4 White delivers the same Google experience to consumers in a stylish and attractive color option," said LG's mobile chief Dr. Jong-seok Park in a statement.

The new Nexus 4 is nearly the same as buy cheap phones that features the familiar 4.7-inch IPS Plus display with a resolution of 1280-by-768 pixels at 320ppi, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and 2GB of RAM. Even the face of the phone will be the same familiar black you're used to. The only difference will be a white backing slapped onto the phone.

Google did not announce a new phone in the Nexus line at this year’s developers conference, and LG has indicated that it’s not currently working on a follow-up to the phone.

In remarks to the Dutch site All About Phones, the vice president of LG Mobile in Europe, Won Kim, said the company isn’t working with Google and does “not need such a marketing success again.” That lead to speculation that the firm wouldn’t even be interested in working on another phone with Google.

In regards to a successor to the flagship Android watches cell phone, The Next Web reports that the manufacturer is not currently working on a Nexus 5, but an LG spokesperson stated "that doesn't mean we would turn down the opportunity." Won Kim, Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe, also said that the company has no plans to release a device like the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S4 with stock Android, suggesting that a Nexus-like version of an existing LG handset is not in the pipeline.
